The Slovenian Jacob's Route is part of the historic Camino de Santiago, one of Christianity's most significant pilgrimage networks dating back to the 9th century. After the discovery of St. James the Great's relics, the Camino became a major medieval pilgrimage route, later declared one of "three great pilgrimages of Christendom" alongside Jerusalem and Rome's Via Francigena. Today, this UNESCO World Heritage site attracts over 200,000 pilgrims annually, with the Slovenian section offering a unique cycling experience through diverse landscapes.
