Washington and Old Dominion Trail: A Historic Rail Trail Through Northern Virginia

The Washington and Old Dominion (W&OD) Trail, often called the skinniest park in Virginia, offers cyclists, runners, and outdoor enthusiasts a 44.7-mile (71.9 km) journey from urban Arlington to the rural landscapes of Purcellville. Following the historic roadbed of the Washington & Old Dominion Railroad, this well-maintained trail provides a unique glimpse into both the urban heartland and Virginia countryside.

Eastern Section (Shirlington to Vienna)
