Sázava River Cycling Route (Sázavská cyklotrasa)
The Sázava River Cycling Route (marked as CT 19) spans 236 kilometers from the springs of the Sázava River in Lísek village to its confluence with the Vltava River near Davle. The trail traverses through the heart of the Czech-Moravian Highlands and follows the Sázava River, often called the "river of romantics."
Route Description
The route winds through the beautiful natural landscapes of the Žďárské vrchy (Žďár Hills), passing through historic towns and alongside the picturesque Sázava River. It combines dedicated cycling paths with local roads, offering varied terrain from gentle riverside sections to more challenging hilly segments. The route is suitable for gravel and touring bikes.
Difficulty Level
Moderate to challenging - due to the diverse terrain, some sections feature elevation changes as the route passes through the Czech-Moravian Highlands. Recommended for recreational cyclists with moderate fitness levels.
